Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic signed a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation on production of the Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine in Serbia with a Chinese manufacturer and partner from the United Arab Emirates. President Aleksandar Vucic said the plant would be ready by the end of March 2022.
The Chinese-owned HBIS Group Serbia Iron & Steel started the construction of a new sinter plant in Smederevo, promising one of Europe's most environmentally friendly and energy efficient industrial plants.

China’s Export-Import Bank is financing a loan to North Macedonia to build the Kicevo-Ohrid highway. Sinohydro Corporation Limited is the main contractor working with local construction companies Granit and Beton. Beton has been involved in several cases related to disputed tenders.
Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Radovan Viskovic signed a MoU with the China National Aero-Technology International Engineering Corporation, AVIC-Eng, for the construction of Trebinje Airport. Work is planned to start in 2022 and finish in 2023. Serbia will partly finance construction of the airport.
The China Gezhouba Group Company signed a contract in May 2020 with the Republika-Srpska-based Public enterprise Elektroprivreda RS to construct the 160 MW Dabar HPP in Herzegovina. Acording to an official anouncement, the project should be financed with a Chinese EXIM bank loan, but there are no information whether agreement has being signed yet.
In January 2020, Serbian construction minister and the director of JKP Beogradski vodovod i kanalizacija signed an agreement with the China Machinery Engineering Corporation, CMEC, to start work on a wastewater treatment plant. The initial stages of the project will cost 271 million euro and the future construction of the plant in the Veliko Selo suburb of Belgrade will cost between 400 and 500 million euro.
The Power Construction Corporation of China should build a 28km heating pipeline and four pumping stations to supply Belgrade with heating.
