The renovation of the Rajko Zinzifov Elementary School started in November 2012 with a four-million-euro donation from the Chinese government. The school is a symbol of a friendship between the Asian and Balkan country. The project was completed in September 2014.

North Macedonia and the Export-Import Bank of China signed a loan agreement on November 26, 2013, for a new motorway project costing 206 million euro.

Greece, China, Bolivia, Egypt, Iraq, Iran, Italy, Peru and Armenia formed a cultural initiative among countries from different geographical regions that are "cradles of ancient civilizations". The Forum was established in 2017 upon Greece's initiative, with the aim of transforming culture into a source of power and a fundamental tool for introducing a contemporary, multifaceted foreign policy. The Forum will also highlight the economic prospects of cultural synergies among nations. Some experts, however, warn that this is rather a political initative and a propaganda vehicle, with a strange mixture of countries involved. They also say that the Chinese use cultural diplomacy as a political tool.

University of Thessaly Confucius Institute was established in 2019, under an agreement between the University of Thessaly and the Confucius Institute Headquarters, Hanban, in co-operation with the Central University of Finance and Economics, CUFE, in Beijing. Its main objectives are to strengthen educational cooperation between China and Greece, to support and promote the development of the Chinese language and cultural education and to promote scientific research and academic exchange, according to its official website. It also supports Greek scholars' research on Chinese culture, history, politics, law, economy, and it also organises events to present various forms of traditional Chinese culture, offers public lectures, and various language and culture courses.
 

Τhe Confucius Institute was founded in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in December 2018, constituting a joint venture between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Shanghai University, SISU, and the Confucius Institute Headquarters, Hanban. According to its official website, the Institute is a "non-profit educational organization that started its operation in the academic year 2019-2020 with the main aim of contributing to the preservation and promotion of the two countries΄ intellectual heritage and creativity." Its mission is "to teach and disseminate the Chinese language, to develop joint educational and research programs between the Universities involved and to promote the Chinese culture through a variety of cultural and educational events which will be offered to the academic and broader community".

China Development Bank co-financed a 530-million-euros project of the Stanari Thermal Power Plant, which was built by China’s Dongfang Electric Corporation. The construction started in 2013 and completed in 2016. The plant is controlled by the UK-based Energy Financing Team of Serbian businessman Vuk Hamovic through local subsidiaries.
 

In March 2021, Albania bought a million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines produced by Sinovac. Instead of buying them directly from China, it used a Turkish intermediary, the distributor Keymen Ilaç Sanayi ve Ticaret.

The HealthCare Europe company was established in Novi Sad in mid-2012, as the daughter company of Chinese giant HealthCare Co., Ltd, that produces memory foam pillows, mattresses and sofas, and has a worldwide leadership. In 2014, they started building factory in the town of Ruma, an investment announced to be worth nearly 50 million euro.
 

The Chinese Zijin Mining Group was officialy chosen as a strategic partner of the Mining and Smelting Basin Bor, RTB, at the end of August 2018. The company commited to investing around 300 million euro for 63 per cent ownership share of RTB. In 2020, the local assembly of Bor filed a criminal complaint against the company Zijin Bor for air pollution.
 

In March 2020, the City Data Centre began its operation in Kragujevac. Along with the most modern protection system, the Centre will store data from the city, city administrations, public companies and institutions, and will also be connected to national databases. The project with its equipment and system software is a Chinese donation worth about 2 million US dollars. The Centre is temporarily located in the yard of the Serbian intelligence service in Kragujevac.
