In March 2021, Albania bought a million doses of the COVID-19 vaccines produced by Sinovac. Instead of buying them directly from China, it used a Turkish intermediary, the distributor Keymen Ilaç Sanayi ve Ticaret.

The Chinese Zijin Mining Group was officialy chosen as a strategic partner of the Mining and Smelting Basin Bor, RTB, at the end of August 2018. The company commited to investing around 300 million euro for 63 per cent ownership share of RTB. In 2020, the local assembly of Bor filed a criminal complaint against the company Zijin Bor for air pollution.
In October 2019, Albanian Radio and Television, RTSH, signed an agreement with the China National Radio and Television Administration to broadcast a documentary on China's governance - China: Time of Xi and a feature film, Kids of Wuzhumuqin Town. The two sides agreed to exchange television productions, documentaries and cartoons, as well as staff training.
In March 2019, the Football Association of Serbia and the Shangdong Linglong compant signed an agreement on the sponsorship of the football Superliga and the First League of Serbia, which is reportedly worth over a million euro.
The contractor for Lot 1, the Pocitelj interchange – the beginning of the Pocitelj bridge and the end of the Pocitelj bridge – the Zvirovici interchange, is China State Construction Engineering Corporation Limited and the contract value is 56,522,840.50 euro excluding VAT. The contractor for Lot 2, the Pocitelj Bridge, is a consortium consisting of Azvirt Limited Liability Company from Azerbaijan, Sinohydro Corporation Limited and Powerchina Roadbridge Group Co. Ltd., both of which are from China, and the total value of the construction works for the Počitelj Bridge is 28,114,889.53 euro excluding VAT.
China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation, CCECC, finished a project to modernise the Rasputnica G - Rakovica - Resnik section of the Belgrade-Nis railway line. The project, with a total value of 23.7 million euro, was financed through a 95-million-euro loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, EBRD.
In April 2016, China's Hebei Iron & Steel Group signed a 46-million-euro agreement to buy Serbia’s Zelezara Smederevo steel plant. The agreement was signed by Hebei Chairman Yu Yong at ceremony attended by the Serbian President (at that time Prime Minister) Aleksandar Vucic and hundreds of workers and dignitaries, which ended with fireworks. The steel mill has drawn criticism from citizens of Smederevo over its effects on the environment.
China donated 30,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines produced by Sinopharm to Montenegro.
In October 2012, the state-owned company Barska plovidba signed contracts with China’s Poly Group and Shanghai Shipyard to procure bulk carriers with a capacity to transport 35,000 tonnes of cargo. The contract is financed by the China’s Export-Import Bank and is backed by state guarantees. Loan repayment remains a strong concern.
Some 500,000 doses of the Sinopharm vaccine were delivered to Bosnia’s Federation of BiH entity on August 6. The shipment cost 12 million Bosnian marks, acording to media reports.
